Testimonials
For us, not having to shop for food, cook the meal and of course… clean up, made it all worthwhile. Whilst all that was going on we had time to relax with our family and friends. At the end of the week it had all been a great holiday and a true break. If only we could have snuck Sophie home with us !
I’ve just come back from another week – even though it was a 4* chalet, the food was no where near the quality and variety that you prepared for us last year, which was just fantastic!
I’m planning another week in Morzine next year and whoever I stay with, will certainly pass on your details.
For the first 2 weeks I was one of a party of solo-skiers and Sophie’s food definitely brought the groups together. I was so impressed that I arranged for her to cater for me and a group of my friends this year. She did not let us down providing superb meals, the homemade confit of duck and her diverse Thai green curry were just a few highlights. The fresh bread, eggs as you like them and her famous porridge was the perfect start to a day on the slopes.
Despite the excellent food the thing that really makes Sophie stand out from the rest is her personality. She is friendly and always willing to help the group out with any issues (even some DIY when a guest “accidentally” breaks the door lock coming home late one night…) but she is never overwhelming and leaves the guests to their own devices if they wish – the perfect host.
With regards value for money I challenge anyone to find anywhere else that provides such a high standard of food and attention to detail for the prices Sophie charges.
I have now met a lot of people who have come across Sophie and her food and everyone sings her prises so my only concern is that she will be all booked up next season and I won’t get to eat her food again!
Nothing was too much trouble and the little touches such as surprise chocolate dipped strwaberries were a lovely touch on Valentines Day.
Although we had agreed the menus prior to leaving the UK we were able to alter this as the week went on depending on our mood, the Thai meal went down really well with kids and adults alike and was definitely a highlight.
The breakfasts are just what you need before a hard days skiing and indeed her recipe for scrambled eggs is now a staple in our house with our youngest daughter being the master chef.
During my last visit to Morzine in March, Sophie not only prepared breakfast and dinner each day she also went way beyond the normal call of duty by ferrying all of the chalet guest to and from the slopes each day. Sophie is great fun, is warm and welcoming and always has a smile for all. I can highly recommend Sophie, she is without doubt the best host I have met, and hope that you will also have the privilege of sampling her cooking and hospitality.
Her kindness was particularly evident as we required transport to and from the slopes each day and Sophie acted as a taxi service twice in the morning and twice in the evening on every single day. I know this was not originally part of her remit but she did it with great willingness and never a grumble, despite preparing our 3 course evening meals at the same time!
I have stayed in very many catered chalets over the years and Sophie has probably been the very best!
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her for any cooking post and would be delighted if I found myself in another chalet with her at the helm. Please do not hesitate to email me if you would like any further details.
